ALLAN ZAVARRO, Senior Advisor

Mr. Zavarro is an active Senior Advisor to Prime Capital (Bermuda) Limited and an investor in OBEX Group LLC. 

Mr. Zavarro was Chief Executive Officer of the Global Futures business at ABN AMRO for nine years. He was responsible for running the day to day operations of the business. Allan orchestrated the sale of the ABN Global Futures business to Union Bank of Switzerland in 2006 for more than 30 times its purchase price from Citibank. Prior to ABN, Allan was President and CEO of Citicorp Futures.

Prior to Citicorp, Allan was Marketing Manager and Chief Executive of Merrill Lynch’s wholesale securities business; Broadcourt  Capital Corporation and earlier Chief Executive Officer of Merrill Lynch Futures Inc.

Mr. Zavarro majored in English at Southern Illinois University. He resides with his wife in Princeton, NJ and Palm Beach, Florida.

DR. QUINTUS CHESS, Senior Advisor of Medical Investments

Dr. Quintus Chess has served as an informal scientific advisor to OBEX for many years. He attended Princeton and Johns Hopkins, and then completed residencies at New York Hospital, Lenox Hill Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering.  He is triple-certified by American and International Boards. 

Dr. Chess is a cytopathologist with special expertise in molecular diagnostics.  His benchmark research on immunocytochemistry has been recognized by the American Society of Cytopathology and received its Prize Paper Award.  He is also recognized internationally as an expert in fine needle biopsy (FNA) for which he invented the familiar spill-free Coplin jar for safe FedEx transport of ethanol-fixed biopsy samples (US patent # 5,674,456).   Dr. Chess is the author of numerous scholarly publications and book chapters.

In 1988, Dr. Chess founded Cytopath Biopsy Lab (CBL).  CBL rapidly became a leading private reference facility, and under Dr. Chess' direction achieved dramatic growth into a national commercial laboratory with 400+ employees and over $90 million in revenue.
